Celebrate Record Store Day with these events and specials

Catch live music, food and drink specials, and plenty of great deals at these RSD events.

Each April, Record Store Day sweeps across the nation, celebrating “the culture of the independently owned record store” with exclusive releases from major artists and in-store events. This year’s RSD is April 12, and some local shops are extending the event into a weekend-long party. Check out the list below for deals, live music lineups, and other offers from St. Louis record stores. The RSD website also has a handy search tool if you want to explore beyond this list.

Euclid Records is turning Record Store Day into a 10-hour party, from 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Saturday. Seven live bands will take the indoor stage on the first floor, including Autumn Clock, Number One Sons, Killing Fever, Erik Voeks Sandbox, Wirebirds, Petty Grievances, and The Grooveliner. Enjoy food catered from Felix’s Pizza Pub and brews from 4 Hands Brewing, Logboat Brewing, and Urban Chestnut Brewing.

Frenchtown Records STL, 941 Park 

Frenchtown Records will start handing out numbers at 6 a.m. and open the store at 8 a.m. for guests to start shopping. It will have offerings from Geddy Lee, The Veronicas, Charli XCX, David Bowie, Francoise Hardy, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Rage Against the Machine, Elton John, Jethro Tull, John Legend, Gorillaz, Post Malone, Peter Gabriel, Bille Eilish, Black Sabbath, Morphine, Better Than Ezra, Charles Mingus, and lots more.

Joe’s Records STL316 South County Center Way

In addition to special releases, Joe’s Records is offering 20 percent off all used vinyl and CDs, shirts for buy one get one 30 percent off, 10 percent off all non-RSD vinyl and CDs, and cassettes for buy one get one free. The store will also have a limited stock of Taylor Swift’s much-hyped RSD release, the Fortnight 7” with Post Malone. Doors at 8 a.m.

Planet Score Records7421 Manchester 

Planet Score Records is teasing some of its offerings, including Prince & The New Power Generation, Marcus King, Clarence White, Craig Mack, Joni Mitchell, The Grateful Dead, Liam Gallagher, and more. It’s not revealing all of the offerings, though—the Secret Stash Mega-Drop is sure to blow some minds. DJs spin all day, including Jeffy the Sunken Head, Landy Dandy, @the_letter_d_since1975, DJ Shad, and Disco Ben. There will also be free local craft beer and snacks. Doors at 10 a.m.

Record Exchange St. Louis, 5320 Hampton

Celebrate Record Store Day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Record Exchange. On Saturday, the store will host its annual sidewalk sale, with records priced as low as $2, alongside thousands of CDs, tapes, and DVDs on sale. There will also be a ton of DJ sets: Jena and Umami on Friday, DJ Josh Levi and Nick Avel on Saturday, DJ Mod Myke and PHD in Funk on Sunday, among many others. Beer from 2nd Shift Brewing will be available inside.

The Record Space8716 Gravois

The Record Space will host exclusive releases and storewide sales on Saturday. Among the live music offerings, Bruiser Queen’s spring tour will make a stop, and Lucky Dough Sandwich Shop will have hearty sammies, lemonade, and more. The party starts at 10 a.m.

Vintage Vinyl6610 Delmar

Doors open at 9 a.m. at this Delmar Loop mainstay for Record Store Day titles only—one copy of each title per person. Then, the rest of the store will open at 10 a.m. Bands will play outside starting at noon, including Opera Bell Band, School of Rock, No Antics, Seashine, and Blvck Spade & The Cosmos. Inside, there will be live DJ sets and beer from 4 Hands for the over-21 crowd.

Record Reunion, 10 Hawks Nest

In St. Charles, Record Reunion is offering 10 percent off all non-RSD merchandise and buy-one-get-one-free on all DVD, VHS, and Blu-Ray movies. All day long, enjoy live music and barbecue. The afterparty starts at 8 p.m. next door at Red Fish Blue Fish (7 Hawks Nest Plaza, St. Charles), with 2-Bit Scoundrels and Fortunate Son.

Kismet Records, 3302 Meramec

Sample kombucha and enjoy homemade pastries while you dig through the crates at Kismet Records inside The Wink! shared retail space. The RSD merch is first-come, first-serve. Doors open at 11 a.m., with live music from psych duo The Isolationauts in The Wink! Annex (4209 Virginia) at noon.
