Atomic by Jamo brings a new energy to an old space

An out-of-this-world revamp of the former Atomic Cowboy is coming this fall.

St. Louis independent concert promoter Jamo Presents plans to open Atomic by Jamo, occupying the previously beloved Atomic Cowboy space located at 4140 Manchester in The Grove, this fall. The new venue will be an elevated experience filled with live music, cocktails, and food.

The entertainment space will feature multiple rooms that encompass the classic industrial look of Atomic Cowboy with new hints of midcentury-modern style elements. The company is working with Liz Lingelbach Welzbacher of Liz Welz Design to reimagine the space.

Featured in the complex will be a cocktail bar, nightclub, and the Atomic Lounge—the space’s future restaurant conveniently housed in the same building. Two event areas, the outdoor Atomic Pavillion and the comfy indoor Atomic, will also occupy the space.

With its various services all in one place, guests have the flexibility to enjoy multiple facets of the venue across an evening. The Atomic Pavilion is located on the outdoor patio behind the location, ideal for large concerts and live event, and has a capacity of 1,000. For a classic going-out experience, St. Louisans can enjoy the night in the Atomic Lounge, the dedicated nightclub space that revives the appreciated energy of the former Atomic Cowboy. Sitting next to the restaurant and nightclub areas, the Atomic will feature indoor, live performances in an intimate setting.

Atomic by Jamo occupies a familiar home for Drew Jameson, founder of Jamo Presents. After previously working for Atomic Cowboy from 2015-2020, establishing Atomic by Jamo’s first physical venue in this familiar space is a full-circle moment. “It feels great to be back at 4140 Manchester,” said Jameson in a press release announcing the opening of the event space. “The neighborhood is very special to me and to the City of St. Louis and I can’t think of a better location to open Jamo Presents’ first brick and mortar venue.”

More details are still to come regarding the venue’s opening timeline and initial event bookings, but a representative for Atomic said that they’re “going to have a little fun with releasing those details.” To keep up with Atomic by Jamo, visit atomicstl.com
