The Flyover Comedy Festival is almost ready for its eighth invasion. From November 13-16, the fest will host headliners such as Aziz Ansari, Kyle Kinane, Patti Harrison, and Dulcé Sloan, among many others. Festival co-founder and executive producer Zach Gzehoviak notes that this year’s four-day lineup is the biggest festival they’ve had yet.
While the heart of the festival is still built around venues in The Grove, it has also expanded to include new venues this year, including The Pageant, Delmar Hall, and the Saint Louis Art Museum on its extensive roster. With so much comedy to sort through, SLM asked Gzehoviak for some of his expert recommendations for “must-sees” at the festival.

Gallery Laughs with Kym Whitley
Saint Louis Art Museum, November 14 at 5 p.m.
In collaboration with MidCoast Media and Flyover, Kym Whitley will be performing at the Saint Louis Art Museum as part of the ongoing Gallery Laughs series. Whitley is an accomplished comedian and actress, with a number of film and TV credits, including Happy Gilmore 2, Black Dynamite, and Next Friday. The SLAM collaboration is a first for the festival, and Gzehoviak sees it as an example of the ways that St. Louis is supporting comedy. “To bring Kym into the festival on the top line as part of this is so cool,” Gzehoviak says. “This kinda speaks to St. Louis’ growing support for comedy in general. When you start having institutions like the Saint Louis Art Museum embracing it, that’s exciting.” This event, hosted by Chris Denman and featuring Frank Lyles, is free. Seating is first-come, first-served.
Upright Citizens Brigade: ASSCAT
The Improv Shop (Main Stage), November 14 at 8 p.m. & 10 p.m.
ASSCAT is an improv institution from the Upright Citizens Brigade. The show features a group of improvisers from UCB LA who take a suggestion from the audience as well as a special guest monologist who offers an off-the-cuff story that the improvisers build scenes around. Gzehoviak notes that each of the two ASSCAT shows will feature its own special guest monologist from the St. Louis community. “Each show will be unique, so you could go to one and then see something completely different at the next one,” Gzehoviak says.

Nick Murphy
Urban Chestnut, November 14 at 10 p.m.
Fresh off of a recent appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Nick Murphy is one of the big rising-star comedians Gzehoviak really wanted to highlight. While Murphy has previously performed at Flyover, this time he is headlining a Friday night showcase at Urban Chestnut. A regular performer at Atlanta’s Punchline Comedy Club, Murphy was also selected as part of the 2025 Netflix is a Joke “Introducing” showcase. This bill also includes the performers Yang; Good Cop, Rad Cop; Colin Armstrong; Comedian CP; and Kiki Anderson.
Disco Horses: A Sketch Revue
The Improv Shop (Side Stage), November 14 at 10 p.m. and November 15 at 9 p.m.
Disco Horses is an absurd sketch comedy duo featuring Joe Harrington and Eric Greenbaum. They’re hitting the Improv Shop stage at Flyover for two performances after a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Running about an hour, their show features a series of absurdist sketches and stands out as one of the shows Gzehoviak is most excited to see. “I think these guys are hilarious with absurdist and over-the-top sketches,” Gzehoviak says. “That’s the kind of comedy I love, so that’s one I’d recommend if people want to see something different.”
Katie Novotny: Son of Your Dreams Special Taping
Atomic by Jamo, November 15 at 7 p.m.
Katie Novotny is a Chicago comedian with Missouri connections. The Mizzou alum will be taping her debut special, Katie Novotny: Son of Your Dreams, at Atomic by Jamo for Rhizome Comedy. The special taping is another one of the unique comedy experiences audiences can take in throughout the festival. Dumb People Town Live
Delmar Hall, November 16 at 7 p.m
Hometown comedy legends the Sklar Brothers and comedian Daniel Van Kirk are returning to Flyover this year, this time doing a live recording of their podcast, Dumb People Town, a self-described exploration and celebration of dumb people doing dumb things. Gzehoviak cites this as an exciting and unique show, as it not only features Rory Scovel as the episode’s special guest, but it also features the musical stylings of Trackstar the DJ, the St. Louis native best known for performing alongside Run the Jewels on tour.
