NBC's Today show made a stop in the Gateway City, and its own Willie Geist was escorted around by a famous native.
Supermodel and frequent Vogue covergirl Karlie Kloss brought Today home as a way to promote her coding camp for girls, Kode with Klossy. Kloss and Geist stop to chat at notable St. Louis spots like the Gateway Arch—with Ted Drewes Frozen Custard in hand—and her alma mater, Webster Groves High School.
"Thank you for meeting me in St. Louis," she quips to Geist.
In the segment, Kloss discusses Kode with Klossy, which she founded in 2015. The organization is dedicated to encouraging girls and women to learn computer coding. One of its programs is a two-week summer coding camp for girls ages 13–18. "This is what I am most proud of in my life, hands down," Kloss tells Geist.
The pair are often seen chatting in a suburban St. Louis home, which Geist reveals at the end of the segment is not too far from the one where Kloss grew up. He says Kloss owns the house, and she purchased it for her family.
With so much success, Geist asks Kloss if she thinks about stepping away for a normal life. Kloss shrugs and motions to the house: "You're looking at it," she says. "You've stepped into my normal life. We're in St. Louis. We're in my house. Really, it doesn't get more normal than this."
