Where to see Fourth of July fireworks in St. Louis

The metro area offers a range of options, from neighborhood festivals to big-budget festivals with nationally known musical acts.

Fair St. Louis

Billed as one of the nation’s largest Fourth of July bashes, the festival runs Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with big names and big booms at Kiener Plaza and Ballpark Village. There will be lots of food, a parade on Saturday, fireworks on Monday, shows from the Purina Incredible Dog Team, and top-tier musical entertainment (X Ambassadors, Third Eye Blind, Color Me Badd, Montell Jordan, Coolio, Tone Loc, Young MC). See the website to plan your visit.

St. Charles Riverfest

The party lasts all weekend in St. Charles, from noon–10 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Get spun out at the Fountain City Amusements Carnival each day, and let the kids delight in the balloon artists and bubble bus. The parade is Monday morning, and the fireworks display (and fabulous river reflection) is Monday at 9:20 p.m.

JB Blast

Jefferson Barracks Park takes the country’s birthday pretty seriously. The entire party is Friday, so consider it for a kickoff to the weekend. Head for Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheater at 5 p.m. Mirage Entertainment takes the stage at 7 p.m., and fireworks kick off once it’s dark, a bit after 9 p.m. Come hungry—there will be plenty of options at Food Truck Row.

Heritage and Freedom Fest

Cheap Trick headlines the Heritage and Freedom Fest in O’Fallon, Missouri, at the Ozzie Smith Sports Complex. There’s a lot going on beforehand, with a full-on carnival midway, parade, and fireworks. The Rise Above: Tuskegee Airmen & Women Air Force Service Pilots exhibit also celebrates the triumphs of those groups over racism and sexism.

Coca-Cola July 4th Fest at Six Flags

Six Flags rolls out the bunting and lights up the rollercoasters in red, white, and blue throughout the weekend. Serious fireworks take over each night, set in motion to patriotic music. A number of VIP fireworks packages are available, including special access, all-you-can-eat meals, treats, and blankets for lounging.

Webster Groves Community Days

For a family-friendly festival, you can’t do too much better than Webster Groves. After all, the weekend starts with a children’s pet parade. That night, at the Aquatic Center, “Olympic” events take place in the pool. The parade is Monday morning, and fireworks take over at about 9:30 p.m.
