The full lineup is still a few weeks away, but Flyover Comedy Festival, the annual “comedy invasion” that floods The Grove and beyond with stand-up, improv, and sketch comedy events, is offering a tease of what’s to come with the announcement of some of its 2023 headliners.
This year, the festival will run from November 9-11 and feature nearly 100 artists. Leading the forthcoming lineup are Thursday night headliner Sheng Wang and Saturday night headliners Jeff Ross and Janelle James.

Wang, whose credits include 2 Dope Queens and Fresh Off the Boat, in addition to his Ali Wong-produced Netflix special, Sweet & Juicy, will take the stage at Hot Java Bar Thursday night at 8 p.m.
“Roastmaster General” Jeff Ross and Abbott Elementary breakout star Janelle James will take the party over to Sheldon Concert Hall Saturday night. Ross will start things off at 7 p.m. with a performance of his one-man show, Take a Banana for the Ride, which “celebrates the lives of his grandfather, his best friends, and his dog.” James will then take the stage at 10 p.m. to mount her triumphant return to the fest. She last performed for Flyover audiences in 2018.
Tickets for the 2023 Flyover Comedy Festival go on sale August 11 at 10 a.m. A limited number of 3-Day Silver Wristbands, which include access to Ross’ and James’ performances at The Sheldon, are available for $85.
