Alixandra Collections in Clayton to Close in March

The doors of Clayton’s Alixandra Collections (9814 Clayton, 314-997-2360, shopalix.com) will be closing “sometime in March—probably later in March,” according to Gale Theis, manager of the St. Louis location for the past four years.

The chic clothing and accessory company opened in 2004 as a small, home-based business near Chicago. Today, there are nine Alixandra Collections stores across four states—Arizona, California, Illinois, and Missouri. Unfortunately for the Missourians, we’re losing our store, which has only been open since May 2008.

Theis could not say precisely why the store will be closing, except that the owner is “consolidating.”

Because the store will only be open for a couple more months, Alixandra Collections is currently having a sale in which everything in the store is 35 percent off. Even after the close, St. Louis customers will still be able to order products from the company website, shopalix.com.

Theis says that she will be sad to see the business close. “It’s been a great experience here. We love all of our customers and we’re sad to lose them. [They’ve] become like family.”
