Kevin’s career began in June 2010 as SLM’s first staff photographer. Born and raised in St. Louis, he left briefly to study at the University of Missouri in Columbia and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Missouri School of Journalism with an emphasis in photojournalism. Beautiful photography is so important for a print publication, and his talent for photography comes through in every issue. “The most interesting thing about my job is the sheer variety of topics I cover,” says Roberts. “One day I went from a salvage yard wearing a hardhat, safety glasses and a reflective orange safety vest to a surgeon’s operating room wearing green scrubs and booties.” Roberts and his wife have a two and four year old and a Great Dane.
