Nelly to the rescue.
Last week, retired baseball player and Hall of Famer Mike Piazza discussed his recent purchase of an Italian soccer club with The New York Times. Asked about meeting with investment groups for a Major League Soccer expansion, including a group in St. Louis, Piazza responded, “I’d rather be poor in Italy than based in St. Louis. You can’t get a good meal there!”

Oof. That is a losing fight you’ve started, Mr. Piazza.
Thankfully, Nelly shared this video on his Twitter account early this morning. In the video, he sports a Cardinals hat and scolds Piazza—who’s resting his head apologetically on the rapper’s shoulder—and says, “I got him! I got him under control. We’re not gonna let him get away with that. It’s OK. We’re gonna have him come down and eat on The Hill.”
Piazza thanked Nelly on Twitter a few hours later with the hashtag “lesson learned.”
Meanwhile, other St. Louisans took to Twitter to praise Nelly’s heroism.
