Last September, 17-year-old Peyton Knight made her New York Fashion Week debut, strutting down the catwalk for Alexander Wang. Of course, it wasn’t her first fashion show. Since becoming a model at age 11, Knight has walked in shows for the likes of Victoria Beckham, Tory Burch, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs, and Gucci. She’s come a long way from Glendale.
What were your impressions of Fashion Week? It was the craziest, most chaotic, wonderful thing I’ve ever been a part of. The hours are crazy, but the relationships you make are, bar none, the best in the world. I still have to pinch myself sometimes to see if it’s really happening!

What’s your style off the runway? Pretty simple: skinny jeans, tees, and tanks consisting mostly of neutrals. I always like a good statement piece, though, whether that’s a pop of color, a pair of homemade jeans, or some cool detailing on my shoes. You always need something that stands out.
What do you make of so many successful models coming out of St. Louis? There must be something in the water! Throughout my career, I’ve watched Karlie [Kloss] become an absolute phenomenon. She’s always been a role model to me… I think she reflects a wonderful light on the Midwest, showing everyone her great St. Louis upbringing.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re at home? I love to cook. I’m always in the kitchen trying to make classically unhealthy dishes in a fit fashion, such as zoodles (zucchini pasta noodles) or peanut butter–chocolate cookies. I also love spending time with family and friends in downtown Kirkwood. The farmers’ market is one of my faves. I love picking up fresh fruit and veggies. St. Louis is a great place to come back to and let my hair down. I can just be Peyton from Glendale there.
