A former president, a former British prime minister, and award-winning journalists are among the impressive slate of presenters for the 2017–2018 St. Louis Speakers Series, presented by Maryville University. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the series kicks off October 10 at Powell Hall. Each presentation begins at 8 p.m. and will be followed by an audience Q&A. Below is the schedule for this year’s series:
David Cameron (October 10): The former British prime minister was the youngest to hold the position in two centuries. He resigned last year, after the U.K. voted to leave the European Union.

Jeffrey Toobin (October 24): Toobin is a Supreme Court expert, author of American Heiress, writer for The New Yorker, and senior legal analyst for CNN. His book on OJ Simpson was adapted into the popular television series American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson.
Jane Pauley (December 5): The TV journalist, author, and anchor of CBS Sunday Morning, Pauley is well-known for her longtime tenure on NBC’s The Today Show and as a co-anchor for Dateline.
Robin Wright (January 23, 2018): The Middle East expert and award-winning journalist is a writer for The New Yorker and author of Rock the Casbah. She’s also a joint fellow at the U.S. Institute of Peace and the Woodrow Wilson International School for Scholars.
Rick Steves (February 20, 2018): Author, TV personality, and European travel guide, Steves is best known for hosting the PBS series Rick Steves’ Europe, as well as the radio show Travel with Rick Steves.
President Bill Clinton (March 20, 2018): The 42nd president of the United States has remained busy since leaving office in 2001, establishing the William J. Clinton Foundation, which aims to improve global health and protect the environment, as well as supporting economic growth, job creation, and sustainability in Haiti.
Paul Nicklen (May 1, 2018): Much of the award-winning National Geographic photographer’s work focuses on capturing the effects of climate change on the world’s polar regions.
