Community School is an independent preschool and elementary school serving families with children age 3 through sixth grade. Students excel in an environment that balances intellectual challenge and nurturing support. Visual and performing arts, physical education, foreign language, and leadership development programs complement the academic curriculum, creating a rich learning experience.
Community’s 7:1 student-teacher ratio allows for personalized attention and active, experiential learning. The small class sizes enable teachers to understand each student’s strengths and meet them exactly where they are, adapting curriculum throughout they ear as each child progresses. As a testament to their preparation, Community students’ test scores are among the highest in the nation.
At Community, children also learn by exploring the world around them. The school’s beautiful 18-acre campus—with its woods, trails, fields, and treehouse—provides a safe setting for this exploration, plus a deeper understanding of concepts taught in the classroom.
For more than 100 years, Community has provided a foundation where wonder leads and a lifelong love of learning begins. Community graduates are responsible, caring, and confident young people, and they are prepared for success in the area’s best secondary schools and beyond.
