Energetically & biologically, the new moon is the quieter time of the moon phase. Since there’s less reflected light at night, there is less stimulation here on earth.
For the human nervous systems, we experience:
- lower activity (both physically & mentally)
- A natural internal inward focus
- And a tendency to be more receptivity to our thoughts and emotions
Life constantly pulls us outward into noise, obligation, and overstimulation. But the the new moon offers the quieter side and a counterbalance to the high energies of full moons and a full schedule.
The new moon is the quietest point of the lunar cycle, and a few days when the sky grows still and the energy naturally turns inward we can replace pushing or producing to listening…..to the body, to the breath, and invite in the softer energies beneath all the doing.
Sound vibrations have an incredible effect on the nervous system by shedding the stress and help you return back to a balanced state. The curious sounds and frequencies will settle the mind. Your body will ease into longer breaths.
