Sugarfire teams up with Cardinals star Jordan Walker for BBQ, free sandwiches, and a good cause

The acclaimed smokehouse’s new partnership with the Cardinals outfielder includes the J-Walk Plate, home run-triggered sandwich giveaways, exclusive merchandise, and support for the Walker’s Winners foundation.

To help commemorate the St. Louis Cardinals’ 2026 season, Sugarfire Smoke House is partnering with St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker on a campaign that combines limited-time menu offerings, fan giveaways, and exclusive merch—all while supporting a good cause.

Says Sugarfire co-owner/founder/chef Mike Johnson, “What’s better in St. Louis than Cardinal baseball and free BBQ?”

The J-Walk Plate

The centerpiece of the collaboration is the J-Walk Plate, a limited-time smokehouse sampler featuring a few of Walker’s favorite Sugarfire dishes. The plate includes pulled pork, brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, burnt ends, baked beans, and mac and cheese.

During the 2026 Major League Baseball season, a portion of the proceeds from the plate at at Sugarfire’s Midwest locations will benefit Walker’s Winners, the education advocacy foundation founded by Walker and his parents, Derek and Katrina Walker.

Home Run Hookup

Sugarfire is also introducing the “Home Run Hookup,” a promotion inspired by the classic fast-food baseball giveaways of the 1990s. Each time Walker hits a home run during the season, fans can score a free pulled pork or turkey sandwich. To redeem the offer, customers must present a physical or digital ticket stub from the game at a participating Sugarfire location within 24 hours of first pitch. The promotion is valid following both home and away Cardinals games and is limited to one free sandwich per customer, regardless of how many home runs Walker hits during a game.

Jordan Walker Merch

The partnership extends beyond the menu with an exclusive merchandise collection created in collaboration with St. Louis multidisciplinary artist Stan Chisholm, better known as 18andCounting. Chisholm’s work spans music, visual art and education, and the limited-edition collection aims to capture Walker’s on-field energy while celebrating St. Louis culture through Sugarfire’s brand.

The merchandise line is expected to arrive at participating Sugarfire locations at the end of June. Fans can follow Sugarfire’s social media channels for updates and release details.

Like the J-Walk Plate, proceeds from specialty merchandise sales will support Walker’s Winners. Founded by Walker and his parents, Derek and Katrina Walker, the foundation focuses on literacy and math initiatives designed to help K-12 students have access to the resources they need to succeed.

“I’m just happy that we even tried to do it,” says Sugarfire partner Charlie Downs, referring to the promotion. “And we’re really fortunate that we were able to strike a deal with a guy as likable as Jordan, especially in a year when he’s been playing such lights-out baseball.”

Johnson, embracing Walker’s torrid home run pace, adds, “Jordan hits dingers, and we smoke the meats. That’s a pretty perfect partnership. We’re excited to work with the Walkers to give back to the community and give away free BBQ in the name of St. Louis baseball.”
