City Foundry STL continues to evolve with the quickly approaching opening of City Winery (3730 Foundry Way, Suite 158), slated to open March 18 in a space just west of the food hall. Here's what to know before you go.
The Concept
Washington University alum Michael Dorf founded the urban winery and entertainment venue concept in 2008. Today, it has expanded to a dozen cities, such as New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, and Nashville.
“Opening City Winery in St. Louis is something that I have wanted to do since I started the brand,” says Dorf. “Having spent several years living in the city while I was in college, it feels right to once again join this incredible community.”'
Each location offers intimate concerts, upscale dining, private event spaces, and a winery. A proprietary tap system will serve eco-friendly glasses of wine from stainless-steel kegs.

In St. Louis, City Winery will offer seating for up to 225 guests in the Barrel Room Restaurant & Wine Bar, as well as a flexible private event space for up to 400. The Barrel Room Restaurant will be open for dinner service. Guests can enjoy flights of wines or the full bar in the tasting room before or after concerts, which feature well-known names in rock and jazz to up-and-coming local artists, comedy, and podcast recordings.
The Menu
The food menu is described as “wine-inspired, globally influenced, and locally sourced, perfect for pairing with City Winery’s own vintages, extensive wine offerings, craft beer and cocktails.”
In addition to cheese and charcuterie boards, shared plates will include:
- Brussel Sprouts
- Mushroom & Goat Cheese Risotto Balls
- Burrata with Cranberry Cabernet Relish
- St. Louis Baby Back Ribs with a Syrah BBQ sauce
- Raspberry Chipotle Cabernet Wings.
Among the entrées:
- City Winery Burger with brie, cabernet onion jam, and garlic parmesan aioli
- Ahi Tuna Burger
- Grilled Chicken sandwich with havarti cheese, caramelized onion, strawberry port jam, and baby kale
- Pan-seared Grouper
- Grilled Flat Iron
- Ratatouille
Then there are the pizza options:
- Margherita with Provel
- Burrata & Prosciutto
- Hot Honey (with Esposito's sweet sausage, Salumeria Biellese pepperoni, mozzarella, basil, and Mike's Hot Honey)
Sides include truffle fries and roasted sweet peppers. And the dessert menu offers Jack's Skillet Cookie and cheesecake.
Executive chef Cameron Bevan moved here from New Jersey, where he helped open a number of restaurants, including Orchard Park by David Burke. Before that time, he lived in Florida and worked at Chanson Restaurant at Royal Blues Hotel, Valentino Cucina Italiano Restaurant, and Alba Seaside Italian Restaurant.
“As a chef, quality of life is hard to find,” says Bevan. “[At City Winery,] I have what feels like an army of people who are incredibly on the ball. The development team and leadership, in every arena, are professionals. They know what they’re doing and are given the autonomy to shine, and they do.”
The Music
For opening night, Irish singer-songwriter Gilbert O’Sullivan is slated to perform, along with guest Bill Shanley. City Winery lists 19 concerts on its calendar so far, including The Verve Pipe, Loudon Wainwright III, Bodeans, Dave Hollister, and Josh Ritter. Tickets are available to all shows.
For a limited time, those who sign up for the City Winery newsletter are also entered to win a Golden Ticket—two tickets to all of the shows this year. The winner will be announced before the grand opening.
