Marine Villa is a little neighborhood worth noticing. Just south of Cherokee Street, it hugs the mighty Mississippi River and displays a charm all its own. It boasts houses dating back to the 1860s, with fine examples of Craftsman, Queen Anne, Italianate, and other architectural styles.
There’s also plenty to eat, drink, and do there. South City favorite Sister Cities Cajun & BBQ recently re-opened in the neighborhood. Sump Coffee, a serious contender for the city’s finest brew, calls the neighborhood home. And DIY community workshop and store Perennial is there, too.
