Central West End Art Stroll  | July 17

This Saturday, the Central West End hosts its monthly art stroll. Every third Saturday of the month, you can explore the vibrant art scene on McPherson Avenue. In addition to the many galleries, there will be craft workshops, live music, street performers, and a sidewalk sale. And while in the neighborhood, you can grab a bite at a nearby restaurant, such as Pi Pizzeria, Mission Taco Joint, Salt + Smoke, or Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. Noon–4 p.m. McPherson Avenue.

Art + Movies Through the Lens | Through July 31

Replacing the popular movie nights on Art Hill is a virtual series that views works of art through the lens and themes of some of our favorite films. Movies include Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Pursuit of Happyness, Shrek, and Whale Rider. Each film is paired with an artwork to enhance the experience. Free. Online through the Saint Louis Art Museum.  

Whitaker St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase | July 16–25

Cinema St. Louis presents 15 films that were shot in St. Louis or directed, written, or produced by St. Louis residents. In addition to the films, five master classes will be offered to teach about different aspects of the filmmaking process. The event will once again be virtual due to the pandemic. Tickets begin at $12 for Cinema St. Louis members and students; individual tickets are $14.

Pono AM + Old Souls Revival | July 16

This summer, Tower Grove Concerts is bringing music to the park, with Pono AM and Old Souls Revival performing this Friday. The concerts will go on, rain or shine at the Stupp Center.  $10 in advance and $13 the day of the show. Doors at 6 p.m. Concert at 7 p.m. The Stupp Center, Tower Grove Park.

Street Fighting Band at Saint Louis Music Park | July 16

After Saint Louis Music Park’s delayed opening because of the pandemic, get an exclusive first look at the 4,500-seat concert venue, situated at Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights. Rolling Stones tribute group Street Fighting Band will kick off this year’s lineup, which includes some big-name acts (Jason Mraz, Wilco, and, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, to name just a few). $10. 7:30 p.m. Saint Louis Music Park, 750 Casino Center.
