Each year, The Sheldon welcomes music-lovers with a series of genre-spanning performances featuring new and returning artists. The Sheldon’s 2024-2025 season includes such offerings as a Prince tribute show in August, a vintage chamber music gala in September, and other enticing new concerts. Joshua Redman and Gabrielle Cavassa will blend saxophone and vocals for a soft jazz show in November. Chicago duo the Bosman twins will make their way to St. Louis in April as part of the Sheldon Coffee Concert Series, where subscribers can enjoy coffee and pastries prior to the show.
Whitaker World Music concerts—scheduled this season for October 24, November 21, and March 29—allow attendees to delve into the songwriting of global musicians such as Mexican singer Lila Downs and Portuguese singer Carminho. Sona Jobarteh will play the West African kora instrument in March, giving audiences insight into the musical archives of the Gambian people.

“This new season is built with iconic artists and many up-and-comers,” said Peter Palermo, executive director of The Sheldon, in a statement following the season announcement. “We are thrilled about our folk and American Roots series, as well as rhythm and jazz. We could not be happier to continue our partnership with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.”
Through their partnership with the SLSO, The Sheldon presents a host of creative classical concerts. The chamber series is sectioned by instrument type, featuring ensembles of brass, strings and winds, and winds and piano.
Most concerts are held in Sheldon Concert Hall, where stained glass windows and changing light displays complement the musical performances. Balcony and orchestra seats are available, with a slightly lower price for balcony options.
Subscriptions for the new season are available beginning May 24, while current subscribers can renew their current subscriptions through May 10. General subscription packages are bundled by genre and include the options of either rhythm and jazz, folk, classical, or coffee concerts, and the opportunity to add on special music concerts and the Whitaker World Music concerts. Pricing varies, and more information on special concerts and ticket prices can be found on thesheldon.org.
Ticket buyers can also mix and match performances, including SLSO: Live at The Sheldon or the Whitaker World Music Concerts, through the Choose your Own subscription packages. Tickets to individual shows will be available to the public beginning August 9.
