St. Louis turned out and tuned in for the U.S. Men’s National Team’s final match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to data compiled by Nielsen Media Research, a third of St. Louis-area households with a television in use watched the Americans’ 3-1 loss to Netherlands on KTVI (Fox 2) on Saturday morning, making our city the second-most engaged market in the nation for the round of 16 showdown. Cincinnati was the country’s top market, while Washington, D.C., Kansas City, and Austin followed St. Louis to round out the top five.
Overall, the match drew an average of nearly 13 million viewers nationwide to Fox Sports’ platforms. Viewership peaked at 16.3 million late in the second half as the United States’ comeback attempt fell short.
