On Wednesday, the Cardinals are playing the Atlanta Braves at SunTrust Park in a do-or-die Game 5 of the National League Division Series (tied 2-2), having forced the game when they won 5-4 in Game 4 on Monday. Game 5 is still ongoing as of this writing, but something incredible in unfolding: By the bottom of the first inning, the Redbirds had scored...10 runs. Atlanta? Not. So. Much.
You guys, this game.
Seriously, the team was unstoppable.
They even set a record, the most runs in a first inning in MLB playoff history, and tied for most runs in any inning in playoff history.
Emotions! All of them!
One of our favorite St. Louisans was pumped.
People started making predictions.
Some delighted in our good fortune.
Some begged for mercy.
Others? They weren't surprised.
But it's not over yet. As of publishing, the score was 13-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning. We're glued to our screens to see how the rest of the game unfolds.
