"No. Not real. Duh."
Vanilla Ice will roll through St. Louis in October with crew more ‘90-tastic than a tamagotchi wearing jelly sandals.
But he won’t be playing any shows at Ted Drewes.
“No, that’s fake,” a manager at the Ted Drewes on Chippewa Street told SLM about the “concert announcement” being spread around on social media, followed by a long sigh indicating that we weren’t the first ones to ask.
A Facebook event for Vanilla Ice’s performance at the beloved St. Louis dessert stand got more than 6,000 RSVPs over the weekend. The event’s organizers say in the description that tickets are $5 with “Kick It” VIP packages available for $187.
But scroll waaaaay down to the bottom of the description to see the disclaimer: “No. Not real. Duh.”
The fake event fooled more than a few gullible St. Louisans…
...some of whom eventually realized the concert won’t be happening.

The event is fake, but some are hoping the buzz around it will convince Vanilla Ice to make it real.
