St. Louis always offers an array of parties for New Year's Eve, from the St. Louis Symphony's evening of surprise music to the rockin' celebration spread throughout Ballpark Village. The 'Lou was even ranked No. 8 on a list of the best U.S. cities to celebrate the holiday. Take that, Las Vegas! (It only came in at No. 10.) From big, themed bashes to restaurant specials, here are 11 places to ring in 2017:
Three Sixty: New Year's Eve Bash
Celebrate the new year with a spectacular view of downtown St. Louis. Rooftop bar Three Sixty will host its New Year's Eve Bash—complete with a champagne toast, live music, celebratory cuisine, and a ball drop. Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel: 1920's Prohibition New Year's Eve Party
The location for this themed New Year's Eve bash is apt—the historic Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel was built in 1917. The party will feature '20s-themed decor, flappers, and cocktails; appetizers; and music from Sarah Jane and The Blue Notes, McLovin, DJ Big D, and DJ Gary K. $105. 800 Washington.
Taste: Is It Over Yet?
At this bar—a pillar of Gerard Craft's Niche Food Group—in the Central West End, celebrate the end of 2016 with unlimited champagne and lavish fare (duck confit toasted raviolis, Dia's cheese bread, deviled eggs, truffled arancini, nduja blinis with crème fraîche and caviar, and more). Taste bartenders will also be on hand to whip up any of the bar's cocktails. Vinyl master Crim Dollar Cray will supply the music. $100. 4584 Laclede.
Retreat Gastropub: New Year's Eve at Retreat
Enjoy dinner and drink specials on New Year's Eve at this hot spot in the Central West End. Its normal menus will also be served. Reservations are available in 15-minute intervals from 5–8 p.m. 6 N. Sarah.
Ballpark Village: NYE Live! St. Louis
Party-goers can choose from two different party packages (general admission or VIP) at this big New Year's Eve celebration in Ballpark Village. Both packages include entry into five different venues within Ballpark Village—such as Howl at the Moon and FOX Sports Midwest Live!—and all-inclusive drink packages. The party will also include music from DJ Dynamix, confetti at midnight, and a ball drop. 601 Clark.
Juniper: NYE Celebration
This Central West End restaurant, serving Southern-inspired fare, is kicking off its New Year's Eve celebration at 10 p.m. with hor d'oeurves and an open bar. Music will be provided by DJ Hal Greens. A champagne toast and ball drop at midnight will ring in 2017. Guests can party downstairs or upstairs in "Eva's Attic." $85.39. 360 N. Boyle.
Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch: Ultimate New Year's Eve Party
Celebrate the start of 2017 at the Hyatt with a dinner buffet, open bar, party favors, champagne toast, and a confetti drop at midnight. Expect live music in two of the hotel's ballrooms from St. Louis cover band Dr. Zhivegas and seven-piece band Groovethang. A room package is also available, which includes two party tickets and an overnight stay at the Hyatt. Party-only tickets are $109. 315 Chestnut.
The Muddled Pig Gastropub: New Year's Eve at The Muddled Pig
Kick off the new year at this upscale Maplewood pub. Tickets include fare from six different food stations, two free drink tickets, a '50s rockabilly/pin-up costume contest, live entertainment, and—of course—a champagne toast at midnight. $75. 2733 Sutton.
Powell Hall: St. Louis Symphony's New Year's Eve Celebration
The symphony says this New Year's Eve party is one of its "most popular and highly anticipated performances of the season." Ring in 2017 with an evening of surprises and beautiful music at Powell Hall. $42–130. 718 N. Grand.
Hollywood Casino: Hollywoodstock: A New Year's Eve Filled with Peace, Love, & Music
The Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights is throwing a Woodstock-themed New Year's Eve bash—which means it's the perfect time to break out those bell bottoms and peace-sign necklaces. Platinum Rock Legends will play on stage inside Boogie Nights, and a DJ performance will close out the evening. There will also be an old VW bus photo booth and drawings for free slot play. The hotel's restaurants are also taking reservations for their New Year's Eve dinner menus. Hotel packages are also available for the evening. $30–119.99. 777 Casino Center.
The Pageant: New Year's Eve with El Monstero
The renowned concert venue on the Delmar Loop is ringing in 2017 with El Monstero, a St. Louis-based Pink Floyd tribute band. Tickets include an open bar (all beer, wine, soda, juice, and select liquors) and a champagne toast after the last seconds of 2016 tick away. $125. 6161 Delmar.
