Martin and Mae Duggan
To those of us who knew Martin and Mae Duggan, their marriage of 73 years was a love story right out of a fairy tale.
Bittersweet as it was to all who knew her, that fairy tale came to its ending Tuesday when Mae passed away at the age of 96, less than four months after Martin died. Joe Duggan, one of her four surviving children, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, “She missed my father.”
"Lady Mae"—as Martin dotingly called her—had five children, 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and thousands of friends and admirers with Martin. They left behind a legacy of passion and faithfulness.
