Victims of the New Years Eve tornado, which destroyed more than 40 homes in the St. Louis area and damaged more than 150, are in need of donations.
The Missouri chapter of Operation Homefront, an organization that provides assistance to members of the military and their families, will be collecting furniture, dishes, silverware, baby items, strollers, car seats, diapers and other household items in good condition, as well as monetary donations, for the victims of the tornado that hit Fort Leonard Wood.
“They lost everything but the shirts on their backs,” says Huck Oberlin, board chairman of Operation Homefront Missouri.
Donations are needed this Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to noon. There will be three drop off locations: Mid Rivers Plaza, The Summit at Gravois Bluffs, and Word of Life Tabernacle Church. For more information, visit operationhomefront.net/missouri, or contact Operation Homefront at missouri@operationhomefront.net.
Tropical Moose’s Walk-Away-Waffles and LeGrand’s Market are also fundraising for tornado victims. Those who donate to the Saturday fundraiser at Grantwood Village Town Hall will receive complimentary waffles and hot chocolate. This fundraiser will benefit the victims of Sunset Hills.
If you know of any other ways to help the tornado victims, please leave the info in the comments.
