The wait is finally over. After no shortage of heated debate, adjusted plans, and media coverage, Ballpark Village is hosting its opening ceremony today. The $100 million development's first phase includes a wealth of bars and restaurants: Budweiser Brew House, PBR Cowboy Bar, Howl at the Moon, Tengo Sed & Tengo Hambre, Drunken Fish, and Ted Drewes... FOX Sports Midwest also will have a new TV studio and stage for concerts. But perhaps the crown jewel is Cardinals Nation, a four-level building that houses the Cardinals Museum & Hall of Fame, a restaurant, and rooftop seats that peer into Busch Stadium. Dress in your finest Redbirds attire, and mark your calendar for these five events surrounding the much-anticipated opening of Balllpark Village.
1) Get a Sneak Peek with Third Eye Blind
Thursday, March 27 at 9 p.m.
Yes, it's been more than 15 years since "Semi-Charmed Kind of Life" was a hit. But when 3eb takes the FOX Sports Midwest Live! Stage, it will mark one of the first opportunities to see Ballpark Village up close and personal.
2) See Fireworks at Busch Stadium
Saturday, March 29 at 8:30 p.m.
Take a break from watching the Blues-Stars game at FOX Sports Midwest Live! —where there will be Blues personalities before and after the game, as well as giveaways—to step outside and see the fireworks over Busch Stadium. Before you leave, check out the Budweiser Brew House, hosting its grand opening from 8:30 to 10 p.m.
3) Run the Busch II Bases
Sunday, March 30 at 1 p.m.
This Sunday, Ballpark Village hosts a family-oriented event , complete with mascot appearances, live music, street performers, rock climbing, arts and crafts, and more. The real draw, though? Running the one-time infield of Busch Stadium II, marked by a path just west of the restaurants and bars.
4) Enjoy Happy Hour on Clark Street
Friday, April 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Every Friday, beginning April 4, Ballpark Village hosts Fridays on Clark. A featured beer will be delivered to the site in a memorable way—whether via a team of Clydesdales or helicopter—and a guest of honor will tap the first keg. Cardinals president Bill Dewitt III will be the guest of honor at the inaugural event, with Dr. Zhivegas performing afterward.
5) Celebrate Opening Day
Monday, April 7, beginning at 10 a.m.
You're taking off work anyway to see the Redbirds play the Cincinnati Reds. Why not arrive early for the grand opening of the Cardinals Nation Museum & Hall of Fame, at 10 a.m.? Afterward, join the Opening Day rally at the one-time Busch II infield, beginning at noon, before walking over to the stadium for the first pitch.
