Reality stars often feel like their stint on TV makes them experts in unrelated fields. Previously unemployed, nouveau-“celebs” are suddenly prolific entrepreneurs in the fields of fashion, publishing, film, and music.
The Jersey Shore cast is no exception: Snooki is a receptionist-turned-author. Jwoww is internet designer-turned-aspiring model/fashion designer, and there are rumors in the mix that Angelina is slated to star in a video… For those who like the letter “x”.
But Pauly D is staying true to his pre-Jersey Shore roots: He was—and still is—a DJ. He has however gone from DJing for a crowd of 200 in Rhode Island to spinning for millions on New Year’s Eve in Times Square.
And he is gracing St. Louis with his presence on Feb. 11 at Europe nightclub.
If you are embittered by the thought of the Jersey Shore cast members making upwards of $10,000 to simply show up at a venue, at least Pauly D is getting paid to work.
Are his DJ skills worth the cover? That’s to be determined.
But the experience is surely worth it. And if you're going to go, you might as well do it right. Dip your head in a bucket of hair gel, give yourself a good double-pits-to-chesty-to-toes-to-head-back-to-chesty with some heady body spray, don an outfit with patterns so abrasive it might cause seizures for any onlooking epileptic, and limber up your shoulders for some serious fist-pumping.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and Pauly D likely can’t disgrace its legacy in a single night, but my guess is he is going to make some headway. When in Rome… Or in this case, Europe nightclub, do as the guidos do.
