The 2008 presidential election was called "YouTube Election," because of the surge of online media. Today, online media is playing an even larger role in the midterm elections. There's a lot at stake in the Missouri and Illinois races, and both states are well-represented online. Here's some links to help you navigate before and after you head to the polls:
Before You Vote:
- Google Maps Poll Finder: Type in your address and this feature tells you the location of your polling place and who's on the ballot.
- St. Louis Post-Dispatch Election Day Cheat Sheet: This breaks down all the major issues at stake in Missouri, Illinois, and across the nation.
After You Vote:
- The New York Times (Missouri and Illinois): This breaks down the results in each state in an easy-to-read format, county by county, for all the major elections.
- Missouri Secretary of State: This simple, comprehensive list gives you the results for all the races in each district.
- NPR Mobile App: Looking for election results on the go? NPR has unveiled their Elections 2010 mobile app (it'll come up when you go to npr.org on any smartphone), with up-to-the-minute results and national election coverage.
- CNN My Elections: This election center site is the most customizable, allowing you to choose which results you want to follow on your "My Races" page, and prompting you to enter your zip code for a feed of local election coverage.
