Budweiser announced today that 28 Clydesdale foals were born during the 2012 foaling season at Warm Springs Ranch, the Budweiser Clydesdales' state-of-the-art breeding facility near Boonville. The most recent two foals were born on Tuesday, bringing the count to 18 females and 10 males born at the ranch in 2012.
Anheuser-Busch has about 200 Clydesdales in its herd, with about half of them at Warm Springs Ranch in Cooper County. The ranch features a 25,000-square-foot breeding barn with a veterinary lab and 10 pastures, each with a customized, walk-in shelter and free-flowing water dispensers.
Warms Springs Ranch, about two and a half hours from St. Louis, offers reservation-only tours, including meet-and-greets with the Clydesdales, for $10 per person (children under 2 are free) daily from April through October. Last year the farm had a 30 percent increase in visitors, some of whom came from international locations such as Sweden and Australia. New this year at the ranch, adult guests may sample Budweiser at the end of their tour (except on Sundays).
