A sister restaurant to local favorites Elaia, Olio, Parigi, Nixta, and La Patisserie Chouquette, the Benevolent King brings another flavor to St. Louis - Moroccan. The small space and menu gives Ben Poremba's restaurant an intimate feel. The restaurant was inspired by Poremba's Moroccan mother. He says, "I'm building contemporary food around them." The menu, which changes day by day, consists of creations like amba - a dish with fresh figs, apples, and a goat cheese mousse spiked with a fermented green mango condiment - and Tunisian open-faced sandwiches.
