St. Joseph’s Academy, a college-preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, has been a leader in private education for over 175 years.
The curriculum is rigorous by design and focuses on developing leaders. More than 140 courses are offered, including 43 honors and AP or Advanced College Credit courses. SJA seeks a balanced approach and invites young women to pursue their many interests. Whether it’s in Mandarin Chinese, Introduction to Coding, Entrepreneurship, Honors Independent Art, Robotics, Journalism, Performing Arts or Athletics, SJA prepares young women to make a profound impact in the world.
SJA fosters the desire to serve. Each student earns a minimum of 160 hours of community engagement during her four years. The capstone project is a three-week immersion experience in a community agency at the end of senior year.
An entrepreneurial experience at SJA activated last year with a student-run coffee shop—“Cup of Joe”—providing the knowledge to run a business through innovative leadership.
Holding students to high standards is the key to SJA’s success. The school has been an expert in educating young women in an environment that challenges them to grow in faith, knowledge and respect for self and others.
