Experiential Learning Brings Curriculum To Life Kirk Day School, an independent, co-educational Christian school nestled in the heart of Town and Country, serves 288 students ages 3 through grade 6. Established in 1992, Kirk Day School sets the benchmark for academic excellence within the Christian elementary school community.
At Kirk Day School, learning is not limited to the classroom environment. Teachers seek out resources within the wider community to enrich student learning. In their study of early American history, 4th graders visit the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City, Lewis & Clark Museum, Daniel Boone Home, and Old Courthouse bringing history to life. Other field trips are intentionally selected to enhance the science curriculum including the National Great Rivers Museum, Weldon Spring Interpretive Center, Powder Valley Conservation Center, and St. Louis Science Center to name a few.
In addition to utilizing resources within the greater St. Louis area, students enjoy educational trips to Washington DC and Costa Rica, expanding their cultural and Biblical worldview. Through experiential learning opportunities students at Kirk Day School actually participate in bringing the curriculum to life as they develop knowledge and skills from outside the traditional academic setting.
