Beginning with an early childhood Montessori program, CDS’s approach nurtures and challenges each child through all stages of development. Chesterfield Day School students in Toddlers (18 months) through grade one work in a Montessori environment that is thoughtfully arranged for exploration and discovery. With their teachers as guides, children explore five basic areas: practical life, sensorial, cultural studies, language, and math. In grades two through six, students build on the Montessori foundation with personalized methodologies like Singapore Math. CDS students are encouraged to explore their interests, work collaboratively and think critically. Private tours are available year round for students age 18 months through sixth grade.
