Ritz-Carlton opened its new fitness center and spa in spring 2016.
One of the best parts of going on vacation is splurging at the hotel spa. Now St. Louisans can get hotel-quality spa treatments without having to leave their hometown.
The Ritz-Carlton hotel in St. Louis unveiled its reworked fitness, massage, and spa facility this spring. Almost everything is new: the strength and cardio equipment, advanced treadmill and elliptical machines, massage rooms (including a couple’s room), locker areas, furnishings, and the steam room and sauna, which replace a prior swimming pool.
But the real treat is the hotel’s menu of skincare therapies. Even if you’re not a guest at the hotel, you can still reserve a body treatment, facial, or massage.

Let’s start with the facials. Ritz-Carlton is the only place in Missouri that offers facials using products from the luxury line ESPA, based in the U.K. Each facial treatment includes a deep brush cleanse, skin analysis, facial exfoliation, a mask, and a scalp massage. A 50-minute facial costs $120, and for an extra $10, you’ll get the age-defying treatment designed to smooth fine lines.
Ritz-Carlton’s spa team has also harnessed the healing power of two natural Missouri elements—red granite and black walnut—for body treatments. The Missouri Red Rock Massage adds the indigenous rock used in monuments and architectural projects across the state to the massage to soothe aching muscles, relax the body, and calm the mind. The Missouri Black Walnut Massage uses sticks carved from locally sourced black walnut trees for a massage the hotel describes as “fast-paced, free-flowing and energetic” to stretch tight muscles and improve flexibility. Both massages cost $205 for 80 minutes.
Ritz-Carlton also offers a deep muscle massage, stress relief massage, relaxation massage, naturally-nurtured massage for mothers-to-be, personalized body wrap, body butter treatment, and full-body exfoliations, costing between $110 and $160.
Want to turn your spa getaway into a full-blown staycation? Ritz-Carlton offers two overnight packages. The ESPA Sunday Sleepover (from $299) includes Sunday night accommodations with late check-out on Monday, a $100 spa massage credit, and travel-size ESPA products, including Hydrating Cleansing Milk, Hydrating Floral Spafresh, Refining Skin Polish, 24 hour Replenishing Moisturizer, 24 Hour Replenishing Eye Moisturizer.
The Senses of Missouri Spa Experience package (from $479) includes an overnight stay, breakfast for two, and a $205 credit towards the red granite or black walnut massage.
