For St. Louisans who'd like to know more about the health of their hearts, Missouri Baptist Medical Center is hosting its Heart Fair next Saturday, February 4.
Whether you'd like to know more about staying healthy or managing an existing cardiovascular condition, the fair will offer information about both prevention and specialty care.
Physicians, educators, and pharmacists will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Attendees can also learn about heart-healthy dishes, yoga and relaxation, support animals, and more at educational booths, and St. Louis Children’s Hospital and St. Louis County Parks will provide tips for healthy living.
Screenings will also be available to attendees. Last year, nearly 400 people received screenings—measuring blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, and more—and nearly 25 percent learned they were at high risk for heart disease or stroke. Missouri Baptist Medical Center offers follow-ups to such patients.
New this year: The American Red Cross will host a blood drive. Participants can sign up in advance via this link.
The Heart Fair takes places next Saturday, February 4, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at Missouri Baptist Medical Center (3015 N. Ballas, 314-996-5000). Admission is free.
