We can dance if we want to.
Every first Friday of summer, in fact. In the Public Media Commons, from 7 to 9 p.m.
This collective kicking up of heels is called the Dancing in the Commons series, and it coincides with the Grand Center’s First Fridays. Each dance session has a different theme:
- May 4: salsa
- June 1: swing
- August 3: tango
And before you stammer, free lessons will be offered at the start of each evening, courtesy of professional dancers from Convergence Dance and Body Center.
Thank AARP in St. Louis, the Nine Network, and St. Louis Public Radio. Then put on some comfy shoes and a full skirt or bendable slacks and head to 3653 Olive Street. Eat a light supper; snacks and cocktails will be available when you’ve danced up an appetite. And bring chairs so you can rest those burning feet afterward.
The event is entirely free, but registration is required at nineNet.org/dancing.
