Mark your calendars for the following free programs offered by St. Anthony's Medical Center this month to help you stay healthy and prevent illness:
Free Bone Density Screening, July 21
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
South County Family YMCA, 12736 Southfork
This 10-minute screening, which measures bone density through a simple heel ultrasound, can give information about your risk and help determine if you need the “central” bone density test of your hip and spine. St. Anthony's recommends anyone with two or more of the following factors to get screened: if you're over age 50, have a family family health history of osteoperosis, are thin, lack exercise, have low calcium and Vitamin D, and if you smoke or practice excessive alcohol use.
Spaces are limited. Registration for the free screenings is required. To register, call 314-ANTHONY (268-4669) or 1-800-554-9550. For more information, click HERE.
Free Diabetes and Healthy Eating Program, July 25
7 to 8 p.m.
Tesson Ferry Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9920 Lin-Ferry
