St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield has been recognized for the fourth year in a row with the 2012 HeathGrades Women's Health Excellence Award, ranking it among the top five percent of hospitals in the country for providing quality healthcare to women and was the only hospital in Missouri to be named one of HealthGrades' 50 Best Hospitals nationwide.
HealthGrades, an independent healthcare ratings organization, examined Medicare hospitalization records for female patients at all of the nation's acute care hospitals from 2008 to 2010 that have met thresholds in patient volumes, quality ratings, and range of services.
“St. Luke’s Hospital is committed to excellence in women’s health,” said Jan Hess, St. Luke’s Hospital vice president and executive sponsor of St. Luke’s Spirit of Women program, in a press release. “As St. Louis’ only Spirit of Women hospital, we encourage women to take action for their health and the health of their families, and we strive to provide exceptional women’s healthcare services to help them achieve the very best quality of life possible.”
Last fall, another report by HealthGrades ranked St. Luke's as the No. 1 hospital in Missouri for cardiac services and neurosurgery.
