Enjoy riding your bike, but rough terrain and city streets make you nervous? Check out Trailnet's Bicycle Fun Club, one of the most active bicycle event programs of its type in the nation, serving up to 10,000 recreational bicyclists annually. Fun Club rides are held on low traffic, scenic rural roads in Missouri and Illinois, and feature mileage choices. Here are some of the events planned for this June:
Sunday, June 3: Trailnet's Tour of the Little Hills Bicycle Ride
Registration: 8:30-10 a.m., Foundry Art Center, 520 N. Main, St. Charles
Fees: $8 members, $13 non-members, $3 kids
In celebration of National Trails Day, this ride, sponsored by Great Rivers Greenway, takes you on routes of either 22, 47, or 62 miles around the "little hills" of St. Charles. The ride will be moderately hilly with a few big hills, so get some practice before the ride if you need it.

Registration: 8:30-10 a.m., Cassens Transport Company, 145 N. Kansas, Edwardsville, Ill.
Fees: $8 members, $13 non-members, $3 kids
Explore the Mother Road on this ride taking you by some of the most scenic spots on Route 66 and the Route 66 Festival in City Park, with options for 9, 26, 40, or 70 miles. This route is flat to rolling with no big hills, so enjoy the scenery!
Sunday, June 24: Trailnet's Bridge Birthday Bash and Bicycle Ride
Registration: 8:30-10 a.m., Old Chain of Rocks Bridge, 10950 Riverview
Fees: $8 members, $13 non-members, $3 kids
The Old Chain of Rocks Bridge is turning 83! Celebrate with a scenic, mostly flat ride of 23, 30, 49, or 62 miles in Madison County, Illinois. After, head back to the bridge for the party with brews, blues, cake, and ice cream. The ride bike shop sponsor is REI and is presented in partnership with St. Louis Public Radio, the Saint Louis Brewery, and Schlafly Beer.
