Have a child between the ages of 6 to 12 that needs dental care? You might be in luck. On July 27, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Dan Hartwig and his team at Family Dentistry of Arnold will be giving free dental services ranging from cleanings, simple extractions, and fillings as part of Give Kids a Smile®, a program started in 2003 by the American Dental Association meant to provide care and raise awareness of the importance of access to dental care for kids.
“This is a great opportunity for us to share our time and resources with those less fortunate and give back to the community we serve,” said Dr. Hartwig in a press release. “By participating in this program, our goal is to engage patients and encourage them to adopt an ongoing oral care program and a lifelong regimen of preventative care.”
Tooth decay is caused by bacterial infection that can spread if untreated. Dental disease has been linked to cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, and strokes.
