Climbing to the roof of City Museum will get your blood pumping.
There is so much to do in St. Louis, especially in the summertime. Keeping simple exercise and daily movement in your routine all year round is necessary for good overall health. Whether you want to spend time with family and friends or take an adventure on your own, here are a few ways to keep your body moving and have fun around St. Louis.
Climb City Museum.
City Museum’s 600,000-square-foot urban getaway includes a children’s playground, funhouse, rooftop slides, Ferris wheel (for an additional charge), and many other unique architectural marvels. Cost is $5 to park and $12 admission for ages 3 and up. To save a little cash, come after 5pm on Friday and Saturday when ticket prices are only $10 per person.
Walk with Stray Rescue.
Show rescued animals some love and keep yourself active by volunteering to walk dogs. Volunteers also help out around the facility and organize special events. You can spend as much or as little time as you like there once you become a volunteer. To find out more and fill out an application visit strayrescue.org.

Looking for a healthy Easter alternative? Get active, with an outdoor activity like Go Ape! Zip Line & Treetop Adventure.
Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course, the first skateboard zip line in the Midwest, includes 2,624 feet worth of zip lines and obstacles. Cost is $58 for those 16 and up and $38 for ages 10 through 15. When you are finished with your adventure, the park is also a beautiful place to walk around and explore.
Pick your own food at Theis Farm.
This family-owned and operated farm had three locations in the St. Louis area and is great for picking fruits and veggies and even buying flowers. The St. Charles location features a bakery with a variety of homemade goods in addition to a market that provides fresh, grass-fed beef. Check out Theis Farm and Greenhouse’s website to find out what’s in season.
Take a tour of Laumeier Sculpture Park.

This unique park features contemporary art sculptures spread throughout the natural environment. Laumeier is free and open to the public year-round with the exception of special events. And if you happen to be there in the evening on the first Friday in August or September, treat yourself to dinner at one of the many food trucks that will be there.
Exercise doesn’t have to be a dreadful or boring experience. The most important thing when it comes to your health is to keep your body in motion as much as possible. When you take a chance and enjoy one of the many places St. Louis has to offer, you’ll be amazed at how much your body can do.
