Sandcastle Beach returns to The Magic House this weekend.
May 18-June 26: Sandcastle Beach
The annual Sandcastle Beach exhibit opens this week in the Magic House's backyard. Thanks to ten truckloads of sand, the exhibit features a place to play in the sand, hidden seashells, ocean misters and beach umbrellas. World-champion sand sculptor Dan Belcher is back to sculpt a gigantic 75-ton sandcastle. May 18 through June 26. Free with museum admission ($10). The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum, 516 S. May 20-22: Wentzville Days Fair and Music Festival
The entire family can enjoy Wentzville's annual three-day festival, which includes a new barbeque contest, new bands, and an exclusive children’s area. On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the Miss Missouri Outdoors Children Pageant and Miss & Teen Wentzville Pageant will be held at the Main Stage. Downtown Wentzville. May 21: Historical Children's Festival
Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day, and live, learn and play as children in the 1820s did. Families can stroll the grounds where our first legislators met to organize Missouri into statehood in 1821. Children can pick up an event passport and participate in hands-on activities to earn prizes. The more stamps in their passports, the more prizes they can earn on their journey through the 1820s. Activities include candle dipping, butter churning, quill pen writing, baby animals, 1820s children's games and toys, period skills and craft demonstrations, and period dressed interpreters. May 21: Family Camp Out
Pitch a tent and celebrate the great outdoors in Ferris Park. For children three and older, there will be family games, a hot dog dinner, campfire s'mores and a light breakfast. Also, the St. Louis Astronomical Society will bring big telescopes so participants can catch a glimpse of Jupiter. $7 per person, 3 pm - 8 am. May 21: Awesome Snakes and Lizards
Children ages 7 to 12 are invited to observe live snakes and lizards and possibly even touch some.
