April 6: Fit Kid: Free Kid at The Magic House with the Billikens
Fitness is a slam dunk when the Saint Louis University men's basketball team hangs out at The Magic House. Kids under 12 can warm up, shoot hoops, and do basketball drills with the team, which will earn them free admission to The Magic House. Free. Must RSVP online. 4–7 p.m. The Magic House, 516 S. April 7: Spring Into Your Park at the Gateway Arch
The barriers are down, and the renovations around the Gateway Arch are nearly complete. Come downtown and celebrate spring with our favorite landmark, walk across the new "lid" over Highway 44, play lawn games, and take the Discovery Map Challenge. There will also be live music and food trucks. Free. 11 a.m.–2 p.m. North Gateway, Gateway Arch.
April 7: Poke Hunt at the World Bird Sanctuary
Play Pokemon Go with the real animals who inspired Mandibuzz, Charmander, Buneary, Pidgeot, Talonflame, and more. There will be a bird show at 10 a.m., and at 11:30 a.m., kids can hunt for Pokemon toys hidden around the Sanctuary—and keep them! (Limit one toy per finder.) The sanctuary is also the home of 15 Pokemon Go stops and three gyms, so bring your phones. The hunt is for kids under 13. $5 per Pokemon hunter. April 7: Make a Kite with St. Louis Artists' Guild
The St. Louis Artists' Guild hosts a free family art activity the first Saturday of every month. And this time, it's National Kite Month, so the guild is helping families hand craft a kite for free. Noon–2 p.m. St. Louis Artists' Guild, 12 N. Jackson.
April 7: Wetlands for Kids at the August A. Busch Conservation Area
Welcome spring with a stomp through the wetlands. Kids can learn about all the animals who call the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area home with activities like casting, fishing, and exploring a beaver lodge. No reservations are needed. Free. 10 a.m.–3 p.m. August A.
