July 28–29: St. Charles County Fair
It's time for country fun at the St. Charles County Fair. Learn about animals by watching the shows, or just hang out at the petting zoo. There will be bounce houses, live music, tractor pulls, a car show, and carnival rides are free with admission. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for kids, and kids under 5 are free. Half-price tickets for military with ID. Rotary Park, 2577 W. Meyer (Wentzville).
July 28: ArtBus at Citygarden
Make art at Citygarden with Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis's ArtBus. Kids will get to make collages from St. Louis postcards and other materials provided by ArtReach. Free. 10 a.m.–noon. 801 Market.
July 29: Comic Con at Central Library
Bring your super kid to Comic Con and celebrate everything that's awesome about comic book heroes at St. Louis Public Library's Central Library. Kids can meet Voltron, catch Pokemon, learn about animation, try out virtual reality, and gobble up super snacks from local food trucks. Free and open to all ages. 10 a.m.–4 p.m. 1301 Olive.
July 30: Kids Dream Family Film Series
Let your wallet catch a break from the heat with a $3 summer movie at Marcus Wehrenberg theaters—plus special deals on popcorn and drinks. This weekend is kid fav Curious George with the voices of Will Ferrell and Dick Van Dyke. 10 a.m. at participating Marcus Wehrenberg Theatres.
July 30: Family Sundays at the Butterfly House
It's the last weekend to explore the world of water bugs at the Butterfly House. Let the kids splash around interactive water play stations as they keep cool and learn about cute bugs. The event is for all ages and is included with admission. 10 a.m.–3 p.m. 15193 Olive (Faust Park).
