July 21: Food Truck Frolic & Family Movie Night
It's dinner and a movie—food truck style. Grab a bite to eat, then join everyone for a showing of Smurfs: The Lost Village. Food Trucks will be parked on the red lot, the movie will be shown by the Technology Building, or if it rains it will be shown in the College Center Gym. 5–8:30 p.m. St. Charles Community College, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall.
July 21: Free Family Night at The Magic House
Play for free this Friday at The Magic House. Check out their newest exhibit, Forts and Playhouses, where kids can make play forts from sheets, chairs, and cushions—all without making a mess in your house. Free admission from 5:30–9 p.m. 516 S. Kirkwood.
July 22: Wildwood Summer Balloon Glow
Admire five hot air balloons as they inflate at dusk and produce a wonderful glow. The Bubble Bus will be on hand to entertain kids with a sea of bubbles, plus live bluegrass music, a beer garden, and food trucks. $10 per car, with parking at the STLCC & YMCA lots (proceeds benefit the YMCA). No glass containers or coolers allowed. 6–9 p.m. St. Louis Community College at Wildwood, 2645 Generations.
July 22: Christmas in July
It's gonna be hot, so cool down at Riverchase's outdoor pool while watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas. There will be balloon creations, and if you've been good, a visit from Santa Claus. Let's hope he brought his trunks! Movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Free for Riverchase members, $5 for non-members. 990 Horan (Fenton).
July 21–23: Disney's Beauty and the Beast at COCA
The classic story comes to life on stage at COCA in University City. Hear the Academy Award-winning score live and watch as COCA's pre-professional division students perform a tale as old as time. Performances are Friday, July 21 at 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, July 22–23 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets are $14–18. 524 Trinity.
