January 28: Firehouse Movie Night
It's movie-and-a-firetruck night this Saturday, as the Clayton Fire Department hosts a free screening of Hotel Transylvania 2. Soft drinks and popcorn will be available. Bring a blanket for the kids; there’s limited space for lawn chairs. A meet-and-greet with firefighters begins at 5:30 p.m., and the film starts at 6 p.m. RSVP required by calling 314-290-8500. 10 N. January 28: Fete de Glace Ice-Carving Competition
Watch as a dozen artists use chainsaws, chisels, and grinders to bring ice to life in Old St. Charles. Each artist starts with a 260-pound block of ice in this dazzling competition. Free. 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. N. Main.
January 28: Chinese New Year
Visit The Magic House to ring in the Chinese Year of the Rooster. Celebrate with festival crafts, face-painting, and a lion dance performance. 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Included with admission. 516 S. Kirkwood.
January 29: Lunar New Year Festival
Celebrate the Chinese Year of the Rooster at the Saint Louis Art Museum, where visitors can learn about Chinese, Korean, and Taiwanese culture with activities, performances, and demonstrations. Free. Noon–4 p.m. Forest Park, 1 Fine Arts.
