February 17: Free Friday at the Magic House
Once a month the Magic House opens its doors for free. Come check out Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and explore all the art, science and fun the Magic House has to offer. 5:30–9:00 p.m. 516 S. Kirkwood Road.
February 18–19: Masters of the Sky
Can't get enough winter eagle watching? Check out the Masters of the Sky, from a cozy, heated tent at the National Great Rivers Museum. Have your picture taken with Eric the Eagle, meet birds of prey up close, then do kid crafts and activities. Afterward you can tour the Melvin Price Locks and Dam to search for wild eagles on the wing. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for kids 4–12. 2 Lock and Dam Way (Alton, Illinois).
Take your little engineer to see hundreds of trains, amazing layouts, a LEGO train display, and fun kid activities at the Great Train Show—held in the Saint Charles Convention Center. Admission is $11 for adults, kids under 11 are free. 10 a.m.–4 p.m. 1 Convention Center.
February 18: How to Draw Pokemon Characters
At The Novel Neighbor, young Pokemon trainers ages 6–7 can learn to draw fan favorites like Torchic and Squirtle. All materials will be provided. RSVP required. $10. 1–2 p.m. 7905 Big Bend.
February 20: Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Live
Are the kiddos off school this Monday? Your pre-schooler will love watching Daniel Tiger live and on stage at the Peabody Opera House. The show is an interactive musical adventure exploring Mr. Roger's Neighborhood of Make-Believe. Tickets $17–70. 6:30 p.m. 1400 Market.
