August 4: Food Truck Fair at Laumeier Sculpture Park
Picnic in the park with the St. Louis Food Truck Association and Laumeier Sculpture Park. There will be live music and food for every taste. No coolers are allowed. Food trucks will be parked at the lower entrance parking lots. 5–8 p.m. 12580 Rott.
August 4: Food Trucks at Grant’s Farm
Enjoy an evening ride through the deer park, pet the goats,and nibble on some of the best food truck fare around. Cody + Jess will also perform. Trams run through the deer park until 7:15 p.m.; last entry is at 8 p.m. Parking is $12 per car; walk-ups are free. 5–9 p.m.
August 5: Junior Ranger Solar Eclipse Program
Prepare the kids for this month’s historic eclipse with a free educational program at the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site. Children ages 5–12 can learn about the science of the eclipse, as well as how to view it safely, and earn a special Junior Ranger Night Explorer patch. August 5: Wildwood Summer Balloon Glow
Admire five hot air balloons as they inflate at dusk, producing a wonderful glow. The Bubble Bus will be on hand to entertain kids with a sea of bubbles, plus live bluegrass music, a beer garden and food trucks. Proceeds benefit the YMCA. No glass containers or coolers are allowed. (Note: This event was rescheduled for this week.) 6–9 p.m. $10 per car with parking at the St. Louis Community College and YMCA lots. August 5–6: Back-to-School Fun Fair
During Purina Farms’ back-to-school celebration, kids can enjoy bounce houses, face-painting, pony rides, and story time. There will also be games with school-supply prizes. Admission and parking are free. Food and beverages are available for purchase at the visitor center snack bar.
