GUITAR: The Instrument that Rocked the World will be on display from January 19 to April 14 in 2019.
The Saint Louis Science Center, known for its experience-based learning and interactive fun, announced the space will show two new exhibitions and three OMNIMAX® Theater films on top of updates to the facility itself.
After receiving positive feedback and success with Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission in this year, the Center aims to continue the success with two new displays. The first, GUITAR: The Instrument that Rocked the World, will run from January 19 to April 14 and take kids through from the history and impact of the instrument dating back 5,000 years, all courtesy of the National GUITAR Museum. Next, kids can browse through more than 200 artifacts loaned from the Naples National Archaeological Museum as well as items buried more than 2,000 years ago but preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii: The Exhibition.
Keeping the erupting theme at the OMNIMAX Theater, Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation, opening May 17, offers kids a different volcano perspective—the structures are a natural wonder and they contributed to the creation of vibrant ecosystems, giving us the Earth we see today. Like the beautiful islands we'll see in another film opening at the end of this month, Cuba: Journey to the Heart of the Caribbean, which takes viewers to paradise through aerial photography. And for the dog lovers, Superpower Dogs will open March 15 and tell stories of heroic dogs all across the world.
