If the kids in your life have ever wondered whether Superman prefers pepperoni or cheese pizza, The Magic House is offering them a chance to find out firsthand at the museum’s Superhero Night on January 7.
The event, which runs from 6–9 p.m., will feature a pizza party and activities such as a photo booth and a craft activity that will allow kids to create their own superhero masks and symbols. Partygoers, who are encouraged to come dressed in superhero attire, will also have plenty of time to meet and interact with Batman, Spiderman, Superman, and Supergirl, who will all be in attendance Saturday.
"The kids have a chance to play in The Magic House with their favorite superheroes, which is pretty cool,” says Carrie Hutchcraft, the museum's director of communications.
Attendees also get hours of access to The Magic House’s attractions and exhibits without the crowds, since the children’s museum will be closed to those not registered for the event. The museum has held this event before, and the most recent one was held in conjunction with an environmentally-themed traveling exhibit “Super Kids Save the World.”
The Magic House’s current lineup of attractions includes the new permanent exhibit "Future Play" as well as perennial favorites like the three-story slide.
“They’ll get The Magic House to themselves with a relatively small group of people,” Hutchcraft says.
About 200 people had registered by Monday, but Hutchcraft said there were some slots still available. The event ($15 per person for members and $20 for non-members) is open to all ages, and parents or guardians are expected to stay and join in the fun.
