Look inside a mother’s purse, and you’ll find everything from lipstick to Cheerios. And although it takes a roomy purse to carry the necessities, that shouldn’t mean sacrificing style for function.
Last fall, St. Louis native Melissa Musen Gerstein and Denise Albert, co-creators of parenting empire The Moms, partnered with ShopHQ to create Musen Albert (themoms.com/musen-albert), a line of fashionable, affordable purses to meet the needs of busy women on the go.
The multifunctional bags include pockets and zippered sections to hold and organize your purse’s contents, with of-the-moment details, colors, and silhouettes. Several bags are reversible, from nylon to faux leather, or transform from a backpack, hobo bag, or clutch to a crossbody bag. And every bag in the line is priced for less than $100. The Sydney purse, a hobo bag with gold chain detail, was recently listed among Life & Style Weekly’s favorite on-trend bags on a budget.
“We realized that there was really nothing out there that was both dual-purpose and affordable,” Gerstein says. “We’re all about empowering moms, and we love creating bags that are both practical and stylish.”
